Anoushka Shankar is a rising young star of the Indian sitar. She is the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Born in London in 1982, and spent her early years shuttling to London and New Delhi. At New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years of age. Later, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Her career as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her young age. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. The singer released Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage work she has done is broad as she's appeared in all of the major stages in the world. Her career doesn't just comprise the world of music.
